We did a nice walk around Siena but focused our attention on the Siena Duomo (Cathedral). The first two photos were taken from Fortezza Medicea (fort built by Medici family) onto the center of town.
The succeeding photos were taken from the Piazza Dell Duomo to capture close up the different perspectives and the details on the entrance and right side. The construction of the Dumo was started in 1215 (over 800 years ago). We’re sure the artist and craftsmen well understood their work was for many generations to come into a future they could never imagine. What a wonderful gift to leave, a goal to which all art aspires.
