Pranzo in Siena

Today we took another nice walk despite the light rain in Siena and worked up an appetite for a late lunch. The beauty of Siena is the narrow, winding side streets with all sorts of small shops and eating places just waiting to be discovered.

We found a very nice osteria on Via Rosa to enjoy a wonderful lunch (pranzo). We shared an order of tagliatelle with asparago and olio d’oliva (asparagus and olive oil) along side a bruschetta with pecorino formaggio (Tuscan favorite) and rucola (arugula). And, of course, their house vino as the perfect accompaniment.
Italy is truly about the hidden gems waiting to be discovered along the winding streets and the wonderful food to be savored.
