Mozart’s Birthplace

We spend the afternoon in Old Town Salzburg (2 hour train ride from Munich).  We’re standing on the pedestrian bridge over the Salzach River looking out over the old town and the fortress above.
In the early 1600s, Salzburg set out to be the “Rome of the North”. The Cathedral and the fountain modeled after the famous Triton Fountain in Rome are from the period. Salzburg is also the birthplace of Mozart.  And least I forget, the “Sound of Music” movie was filmed nearby.
