Karlstor (Tor is “gate” in German) is one of the three remaining 14th Century Munich city gates. They were renovated in the 1800’s but still stand as reminders of the past.
The gates were once the only entrances inside the city walls designed for protection. Now the gates welcome all into the historic, old town center.
The Karlstor gate was our entrance into our first, big retirement travel adventure. Hello Munich, show us your treasures.
